DEAN LAUDERDALE
Bio
Nominated for the 2024 YYC Solo Artist of the Year, Dean Lauderdale is a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer. His music blends folk, rock, and pop into a signature sound that’s both engaging and heartfelt. His debut full-length album, Life Lessons, is a testament to his versatility—Lauderdale took on the roles of songwriter, producer, performer, and audio engineer.
Dean was one of ten vocalists selected to perform at the Mid-Autumn Star Event, hosted by the National Music Centre, where he earned 1st place. One of the judges, Stephanie Hutchinson (Director of Programs at the NMC), praised Dean’s performance:
“Dean has such a clear and confident voice, and to me, every note was perfect.”
On his original song If I Had a Glass, she added: “The way he sang that song made us all want to sing along. Dean is so calm and confident on stage—he’s a natural performer.”
In his solo sets, Dean showcases his live-looping abilities, bringing each performance to life with dynamic layers and infectious energy. Deeply influenced by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Mumford & Sons, and Ed Sheeran, Dean brings a distinctive presence and sound to every stage he steps on.
